  • Be careful of other skiers.

Choose a "director."

The director goes down a section of slope and places his ski poles 15 to 20 feet apart in a line across the slope and stands between them (becoming the third pole in the line.) The poles mark the outside of two imaginary corridors--one on each side of the director.

The idea is that the skier must ski within one of the corridors--which one is determined by the director.

The skier begins with short turns in one corridor and watches the director for a signal to switch to the other corridor. When the director gives the signal, the skier switches quickly to the other corridor.

Tips:

  • When switching corridors, try not to lose your rhythm or take too much time.
  • Keep your eyes on the director.
  • Try to make clean and concise turns and continue to do so as you switch from corridor to corridor.
