  • This method tends to keep you in the fast line.

When your legs are this close together you'll likely pivot, rather than carve your skis.

Keeping your knees together doesn't mean only that--you have to also tuck your downhill knee under the uphill knee. As you change direction, your knees will shift their positions. This creates a lead change with the skis.

"Throw" your knees from side to side, while simultaneously tucking the downhill knee under the other.

  • Keeping a steady upper body--facing down the hill--is crucial.
